Dersane Sahlu

Dersane first joined the staff of Edmonds Montessori in July 2025. She was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. There she worked as an office secretary in Addis Ababa University College of Education until she came to the United States. Dersane is a mother of two and has lived in Lynnwood, Washington, since 2009. She received her Associate of Arts degree in pre-nursing in 2014 from Edmonds Community College. She previously worked as an assistant pre-K teacher and a substitute since 2022. She has been a parent volunteer in the Maplewood K-8 parent cooperative school since 2017. Dersane is passionate, respectful, and good at creating a welcoming educational environment. Through her years, Dersane has been highly motivated to help students to develop their skills.
